Dear all,

We have a candidate for the upcoming 1.55 release of Net::DNS.

This candidate has two bugfixes

  * A fix for 1 byte TCP packets containing “0” being interpreted as
    EOF, corrupting AXFRs (See RT#176900
    <https://rt.cpan.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=176900>)
  * Removing usage of backticks in UNIX.pm which depend on shell (See
    RT#177003 <https://rt.cpan.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=177003>)

Please review the candidate carefully. If no issues arise, the actual
releases will follow Thursday the 11th of June 2026.
