I’m new to the list and to unbound. Been struggling with my setup. Main problem is that it is not resolving. Tried resolving yahoo.com via ping with unbound daemon started and stopped. No difference. Here is my setup:

SETUP
OpenBSD
OpenBSD 6.1 (GENERIC.MP) #20: Sat Apr 1 13:45:56 MDT 2017
    deraadt at amd64.openbsd.org:/usr/src/sys/arch/amd64/compile/GENERIC.MP

HARDWARE (This is my firewall)
Circa 2017 PCEngines hardware: apu2c4 APU.2C4 system board 4GB

UNBOUND (unbound -h)
Version 1.6.1
linked libs: pluggable-libevent 1.4.15-stable (it uses kqueue), LibreSSL 2.5.2
linked modules: dns64 validator iterator

CONFIG FILE
# $OpenBSD: unbound.conf,v 1.7 2016/03/30 01:41:25 sthen Exp $

server:
        interface: 0.0.0.0
        access-control: 192.168.1.0/24 allow
        verbosity: 1
forward-zone:
name: "." # use for ALL queries
        forward-addr: 208.67.222.222 # opendns.com
        forward-addr: 208.67.220.220 # opendns.com

SOME DETAILS
I can start, stop, restart, enable and check the daemon. It all comes back as OK without errors. The clock is also accurate. I read somewhere that it misbehaves if the clock or date is off.
