From tim at nlnetlabs.nl Wed Apr 21 11:00:31 2021 From: tim at nlnetlabs.nl (Tim Bruijnzeels) Date: Wed, 21 Apr 2021 13:00:31 +0200 Subject: [RPKI] Krill v0.9.0-rc1 ready for testing! Message-ID: Dear Krill users on this list, We have just released the Krill v0.9.0-rc1 Release Candidate for testing. Main changes in this release are: - Breaking API and CLI changes in preparation of 1.0 - Support for named user logins in the UI - Data migration (Krill will use less space in future) - Dedicated binary the Publication Server and its CLI You can find the full changelog here: https://github.com/NLnetLabs/krill/releases/tag/v0.9.0-rc1 Updated documentation for 0.9.0 has been made available here: https://krill.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ We invite users to try this release candidate. With regards to the data migration - this process is automatic and we have tested it. But, we would appreciate it very much if some existing Krill users can try this as well. The changelog includes a description on how to do this. If you have any doubt about this but want to test, then you also reply to me personally and I can see if I can do some more testing for you. The API changes are not huge, but paths and JSON formats may have changed. In particular if you were automating the set up CAs / child CAs and/or Repositories, then you will find that the 'embedded' option is no longer supported. I.e. Krill will now always use the RFC compliant protocol to connect CAs and repositories even if they are all local to the same Krill instance. This adds a small bit of overhead, but allowed for a lot of simplifications in the code, which decreases the surface for bugs. Furthermore, if you are using Krill as a Publication Server, then we also want to ask you to review the proposed changes and let us know if you have any feedback. Please let us know if you find any issues or have any comments! On behalf of the NLnet Labs RPKI Team, Tim
